Catch of the Day
School of Evangelism offers applied and practical evangelism training. Through classroom lectures, demonstrations, role-play, and on-the-job evangelistic training within the community (fishing expeditions), students learn firsthand how to effectively introduce their church, share their personal testimony and present the gospel.
Through fishing analogies, strategies and tackle, each student is shown how to cast their gospel line and fish for men. The fishing analogies really makes the material easily remembered, while empowering them to boldly and confidently share their Christian faith.
Students are expected to read and complete homework assignments and go out into community to proclaim salvation.
Fishing Expedition Practicum
No student's evangelism education would be complete without regular, on-the-job training. Students are required to participate in the evangelism practicum called
a "Fishing Expedition." The fishing expedition requires going into the community to present the gospel to the residents. This practicum gives students hands-on experience in The work of evangelism which we have been admonished to perform. (II Timothy 4:5)
All students are required to complete at least 30 hours of combined lecture and practicum. The process of learning how to catch the souls of men is gained only through doing the work of an evangelist under the supervision of a certified
Catch of the Day instructor. Students become comfortable and confident presenting the gospel.
The Certificate Ceremony
Upon completion of the rigorous six week evangelism training
course, students are awarded a beautifully embossed certificate of completion. They are also bestowed a metal Christian fish medallion that is inscribed with their academic accomplishment during the course. This is a cherished momentum given to students based on their commitment to the class and academic standing.
